Taxis in Leicestershire are to carry adverts for reusable nappies in a bid to help reduce landfill.
They
will carry an image of a baby wearing a striped reusable nappy and the
claim switching from disposables could save parents £700 a year.

The county council said it was part of its ongoing campaign to increase awareness of "sustainable babyware".
About 50 million disposable nappies are thrown away in Leicestershire each year, officials said.

The council said most of these nappies ended up in landfill sites and could take hundreds of years to decompose.
As well as being a waste of resources, landfills were almost full and heavily taxed, officials added.
Nicholas
Rushton, county council deputy leader and chairman of Leicestershire
Waste Partnership, said: "The taxis are a novel way to promote the
benefits of using real nappies.

"If enough people in
Leicestershire start using them it would mean a cut in the amount of
waste being sent to landfill and help to improve our environment."
The
council also runs a lending kit scheme which enables people to try real
nappies for free and then claim £30 cashback when purchasing them.
There are also bill-boards and double decker buses all around Leicestershire promoting the scheme.
